Daylight Savings come back!!

I hate switching back to 'regular' time instead of having 'daylight savings' time. I personally prefer the extra daylight in the evening rather than in the morning. Families usually spend time together at night, not the morning. Plus the darkness really cuts into my time at the park and going on walks with Landon and I don't like that. Now I have to entertain him inside for hours before bedtime when he is used to being outside. Quite the difficult transition for both of us! Here is a picture from the other night at the park when we were about to leave and the sun was almost gone

Congrats, Jill & Ed

Hooray for the happy couple! Jill & Ed had a simple and sweet ceremony in the moonlight as well as an intimate indoor/outdoor reception with live music. Instead of a wedding cake they had cupcakes that so beautifully fit their theme. And one of the sweetest father/daughter things we've seen - Jill's Dad wrote her a song and sang/played it for her there. I saw lots of tears around the room during that  :)

Puppy Love

Over a year ago we had to give away Dobby when we found out we were going to have a baby.  He had been abused and we had tried for a year to work with him to help him but he was still acting out in ways that we knew would not be good with a baby in the house.  Then about 2 months ago we finally went ahead and gave away Lycan.  That was an incredibly hard decision since we had him since we first got married when he was only 4 weeks old and he is the sweetest dog ever.  It was hard for him to not have Dobby here and hard for me to take him on walks with a baby (we live in the city so no yard suitable for him to run.)  So to be fair to him we had to give him the chance to really enjoy life somewhere else.  For the first month my house felt so empty and every day I regretted the decision.  But yesterday I suddenly was able to let go and feel much better about it after seeing a picture of him happy through pics the woman has shared. AND he gets to have another dog as a friend in his new home.

So I say all this to encourage people, that if you have been thinking of getting a new pet, maybe you should consider adopting one from someone who loves their animal but wants a better life for them than they can provide in their current situation.  Don't be afraid to take a chance and maybe meet someone who has an ad online or in the paper, at least set up a meet & greet and see if you click.  I'm sure there are many others out there like me that really don't want to let go of a pet they love and it will help ease the hurt to know that you are loving their animal and making it part of your family.
